Thank you so much for the nice ANDE award. It was an interesting and fun challenge to copy the telemetry, especially the last few days. The award is quite attractive. 73s Dale

Thank you very much for a very beautiful ANDE award. I'm so glad to get the award.
If my report stands some to a role, it is so happy! (^^) It expects from now on and is observing. Please do your best.
Thanks OM 73's

I've received the award in the post. You have made a fine job of it. Many thanks for setting up the award in ANDE's final days.
All the improvements made to my satgate over that period to improve reception of packets from ANDE are now in use everyday on the ISS passes.

Trying to capture the very last telemetry frames from Ande as it de-orbited was a lot of fun.
Chasing the award made it even more exciting.
Thanks guys for a great job in creating this award, and following through with such slick execution.
I received the award in the mail today, beautifully presented, and signed by Mike DK3WN.

My Award arrived safely today (29 Jan 08) very nice paper and print quality. It was a privilege to participate in the final days of the ANDE project maybe there will be similar in the future :-)

Over the last number of months, I've not been too active with satellites and this "mini" contest has got me interested again. I hope the telemetry copied has been or will be of use. Thanks for taking the time and effort to organize the contest. All the best to everyone in 2008.
The equipment used: Icom IC-910H, M2 Eggbeater, TNC Kantronics 9612+, Software: UI-VIEW

Congratulations to Henk and Mike, you did an excellent job to motivate people to participate in observing the de-orbit of ANDE.
Unfortunately my antennas are down since last year and due to worload I simply did not had the time to install the new roator and antennas.
Otherwise I would also haven listen for sure....
Have a prosperous and healthy New Year 2008

ANDE can be heard only three times a day due to my north location KP21fa. Maximum elevation was 4.6 decrees above horizon that was good for my 2 x 17 el yagi's with no tilt. Rig is FT-847, TNC is old AEA PK-96.

Hi Mike, Henk and Bob,
Many thanks for organizing the ande deorbit award. It was a lot of fun catching the telemetry data from the satellite and making voice contacts via the ANDE digitalker. Again I learned a lot from this event!

I had a lot of fun in getting to know ANDE (NO-61) I wish I had more time with it. I'm new in space born ham radio and it's been a blast. Thank you very much for all the work that was done on this project and on the web site to help us keep track of it.

Thank you all very much for this great exercise! A lot of fun, and a very good technique to ensure you get the maximum number of received telemetry packets worldwide in ANDE-1 satellite's final days. I'm sorry I couldn't operate on 24 December but family duty called!

I have a lot of interference (birdies) on 2 meters including 145.825. It has greatly reduced the number of packets I can decode. I'll be tracking it down in the Spring when the wx is a little warmer. I was happy to see that I gated the 7th last packet received from ANDE.

It was a pleasure and a privilege in both using this fine satellite and assisting in her final days.

Mike / Henk,
Thank you for asking me to participate. Originally my equipment was set up to Igate the ISS and I had only ever received one packet from ANDE.
It's been a stimulating technical challenge as I've improved my equipment, installed Doppler tracking software and given it a lot of
personal attention in the last days. I even turned off my terrestrial Igate during each pass so that I could transmit on 145.825 MHz to
attempt to "wake up" ANDE !
Your excellent website and the idea of an award has raised a lot of interest encouraging many stations, like me, to focus on receiving ANDE
telemetry. I also noticed that it had an effect on the Igating of ISS packets. I look forward to working you both through the ISS or other satellites
as it has really sparked my interest!
Have a Happy New Year!
73, Chris

Hi, I heard ANDE-1 last time on Sunday morning (23-12-2003) between 7:00 - 8:00 UTC, but I could not decoded it because the signal was too low. So please ask other EU stations probably someone else received it too. It is very important to determine the date of deorbit.
Best regards, Roman
P.S. A very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2008 for all of you and to all of this game. Thank you for ANDE-1, when you plan to build the next LEO satellite? I dream about my own LEO nanosat working around 50 MHz (repater) but not enough time, knowledge, know-how and finanse to do it. Probably is possible in the future in the big international team ... ? Who knows?

ANDE today is about 218 km up. The updated keps drop its orbital height
5 miles in the last few of days, which has been very deceiving in the meantime. Bob's prediction of 12/18 is about right, but it could come down a day or so earlier. Best to get your telemetry in now. Got about 4-5 days left. According to Bob, it's so low, it's well ahead of the time mentioned in the keps. It could be earlier by minutes. The passtime is now less than about seven minutes, not the usual 9 minutes, 30 seconds so it is fast!
Unfortunately, ANDE does not process much each day compared to before. So, it tends to stay somewhat in the same pattern of passes and about the same time each day. In other words, if it's a good high ascending pass today at 9:00 pm, look for the same a few minutes earlier tomorrow. If it's a bad pass today, it'll be a bad pass a few minutes earlier tomorrow.
Good luck!

Hi, I see on the website www.ande-deorbit.com that you already
have my callsign G4HYG-1 on your Igate list. I'm emailing to
confirm that "I'm in the game". My Igate runs 24/7 as it shares
the antenna and receiver front end with my other Igate MB7UBN.
For your information I'm using a X-200 colinear antenna with 8
dBi gain at 10m agl. More information on my website http://www.crosscountrywireless.net/mb7ubn.htm

My station will be on freq until deorbit. EM64RP, just a vertical antenna on most passes. I recorded the bird yesterday using WINAPRS, apparently. I'll send the info soon.

Hello Mike,
You are most welcome and very nice to hear from you too. :-)
Yes, we will be constantly copying ANDE's telemetry from today till the day it re-enters the earth. At present, 9M2RPN is configured as an IGATE to automatically copy ANDE as well as PCSAT and the ISS. My own station will also come on occasionally to support 9M2RPN's effort. We will contribute as much as we could to support ANDE.

Happy to hear that ANDE life so long.
I hope that there will come more stations who provide the telemtry via INTERNET!

I'm pleased to be able to copy some of the telemetry for ANDE, however its getting a little more difficult over the last few days. Possibly its my poor an antenna --- a 2 meter eggbeater --- or perhaps it's the winter storms currently being experienced here in Canada.
At any rate, consider me as entered into the "ANDE" contest and I will continue to report any telemetry that I can copy.
All the best of the holiday season and a good 2008.

I have plenty of time to spare at the moment, so I can be in the shack for most, if not all, of the passes.
I will keep an eye on keps and an ear on the radio.
